snow days
the beautiful weather is now melting away – literally. usually, a NC snow lasts 24 hours or less but here we are four days after the snow first fell and there is still a good amount left on the ground, houses, my car, etc (speaking of my car, i have not left the house since friday – gasp!). however, today’s cold, gross rain is sure to remove the remnants of friday night’s snow. i always get sad when the snow melts. i guess its because as a kid it meant back to school. i told travis yesterday that the snow melting is the same feeling i get on the day after christmas when all the presents have been opened and the wrapping paper has just made a mess.
as for our snowy weekend, it was enjoyable. unfortunately, travis worked all day from home on saturday and then had to GO INTO THE OFFICE on sunday for a rather important project. he made it up to us (and himself) by working from home yesterday. sadly, the most time i spent outside in the snow was to 1) chase darcy when she escaped from the house during a photo op (see below) and 2) to take out the trash yesterday for the garbage truck that did not come until today. here are some pics from jackson’s first real snow.

(right before darcy made a break for it)
the fire was on most of the time

while i have always HATED doing the dishes, its getting better. during snow days however, they dropped on the priority list.
